Sheetrock Repair

Sheetrock Repair in Madison, MS

Moving furniture from the living room to the office seemed like a great idea until you cut a corner too closely and left a hole in your wall.

Chapter 01

Small damage that shows once the walls are painted

Sheetrock fails in small, ordinary ways. A sofa corner leaves a dent, a door knob punches through the wall behind a door, a taped seam cracks along the ceiling line, a nail pops after the house settles. None of it is dramatic, but all of it shows once the walls are painted, and fresh paint makes old damage easier to see, not harder.

The furniture story is the common one, and the crew tells it themselves: "Moving furniture from the living room to the office seemed like a great idea until you cut a corner too closely and left a hole in your wall." Holes like that can be patched properly, but they cannot be hidden with paint alone.

Cut, patch, tape, mud, sand, match, prime

A repair starts by cutting back to sound sheetrock. The damaged section is squared up, a patch is fitted and fastened, and the seam is taped so it cannot crack again along the same line. Joint compound goes on in thin coats, each one allowed to dry and sanded, so the edges feather out into the wall instead of leaving a visible ridge.

Then comes the part most people never notice: matching the texture of the surrounding wall, priming the patch so it takes paint at the same sheen as everything around it, and checking it in raking light before the room is painted. The crew covers floors and furniture first, so dust stays in the room it was made in.

Chapter 03

Inspected before the first coat, so the paint hides nothing

Anthony's Painting says it plainly: "We also thoroughly inspect surfaces for any damage to the sheetrock prior to repainting." That inspection is the point. Walls are checked before the first coat, so a hairline crack or a nail pop gets fixed once, underneath the paint, instead of showing through it a few months later.

It is also why interior jobs run with little disruption. Deidre H. wrote that "his team was very professional and we had minimal disruption in our home." Repair and repaint are handled by one crew, using premium Sherwin Williams paint over a wall that has been made sound. Call 601-946-8107 and ask for a free estimate.

Repairs and repainting happen in a room that is already protected. These two frames come from a kitchen job in progress.

Patched walls get painted as part of interior painting, and the same crew handles the outside through exterior painting. The gallery has finished kitchens and rooms to compare.
